This permanent post is an exciting opportunity to join the existing Team at the Golf Club and to become a qualified Greenkeeper. During your apprenticeship we will pay your salary and your training, travel and subsistence costs at the recognised training centre for Greenkeepers in Cupar, Fife. Once qualified, we would expect you to work for the Club for a minimum of two years.
Your principal duties will include assisting the Deputy Head Greenkeeper in all tasks associated with the daily running and maintenance of the Golf Courses. including the use of light and heavy machinery, mowing grass, the application of pesticides, rolling and maintaining greens, cutting pin positions and a range of other maintenance and development tasks. Some experience of these tasks will be an advantage but is not essential as you will receive training. The job will involve early starts especially in the Spring and Summer months. Weekend work will also be required on a rota basis.
A driving licence (or an active plan to obtain one) is essential as are basic qualifications in reading, writing and numeracy.
The salary for the successful candidate will be £18,103 with increments, dependent on successful completion of training.
